About Mrs. Hernandez Minimize

I am so excited that God has given me this opportunity to share my love for Him and of Spanish with your children this year at Grace Academy. I hope to ignite in your children a desire to learn Spanish and more about the Hispanic communities. I believe that the younger the child is the easier it is for them to learn a second language. Learning a foreign language is a proven way to build a foundation for success in life. Knowing Spanish will be helpful to my students in their future careers and it is also beneficial for witnessing and establishing relationships with Hispanics. One of the best ways that Christians can demonstrate Christ's love is to communicate with people in their native language.

My name is Sarah Hernandez. I graduated from Southwestern College with an Associates Degree in Child Development and a minor in Spanish and Chicano Studies. I also received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology from Christian Heritage College. Both colleges are in San Diego, CA. I lived in Baja California, Mexico for twelve years, which gave me a better understanding of the language and culture. In my free time I love to read, be outdoors, and spend time with my family. I have a four year old, Juliana, at the Children's Center, and  a twelve year old, Sierra, at the middle school in the 6th grade.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have at Shernandez@gracechatt.org or my cell phone number is (423) 595-2276. Gracias!
