Mr. Hicks' Bio.  
I am a graduate of Baptist Bible College (2001) & Baptist Bible Graduate School (2005-06) in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. My bachelors degree is in teaching science and my master's degree is in educational administration. I graduated high school from West Seneca Chriatian School (1997) in Buffalo, New York and after college I returned there and I taught 4 years.  This will be my sixth year here at Grace and I will be teaching Chemistry ,Physics, & Physical Science.   My wife's name is Jaclyn and we are approaching our fifth year of marriage in March 2011.

Chemistry & Physics class will typically opperate as follows:

  • Each chapter will typically have at least one homework assignment, one lab, one quiz, and one test.  Tests will be worth approximately 100 pts.  Homework will be worth approximately 25-50 points. Labs will be worth approximately 50 points.  Quizzes will be worth approximately 25-50 pts. 
  • There will be a cumulative exam for each semester(that everyone is required to take).  It will be worth 16 % of the semester grade.
  • Student grades can be found on power school
  • Each student need to bring their textbook, notebook, calculator, and any other needed classroom materials with them at the beginning of class
  • Each student should be prompt to class (the standard school tardy and absence rules apply)
  • Each student should have proper classroom behavior.  Respect for all authority figures and for all students is required. 
  • If you are absent check with me to get your work the next day when you come back to school  
  • Make-up work is done according to the school policies (if you are absent 2 days you have 2 days to make up the work). 
  • Late homework will receive a zero in the grade book.  Late work not turned in will stay a zero; if it is turned in you will receive ten points off.  If late work is not turned in promptly and your grade is below 76it will result in your required attendance in the Responsibility Room (R2).  Work finished in the Responsibility Room will remain a zero.  
  • Engaging in activities not related to our science class is prohibited (i.e.: private conversations, homework for other classes, and others)
  • No food or drinks in the Lab, No food or drinks (except for water in a bottle) in the classroom
