About Mr. Knecht Minimize

I am married to Carrie Knecht who teaches in the middle school. We have been married 10 great years. We have three children, 2 cute little boys, Cooper (7) and Carson (3) and 1 precious little girl Caroline (born 11-19-09).

I am a graduate of Bryan College where I recieved a degree in Christian Education with minors in Bible and History.  I teach 12th, 11th, and 9th Grade Bible and Weight Training. I am currently the Bible department Head and responsible for planning Middle and High School Chapels.  I am also the huddle coach for our FCA and I serve as an assisstant football coach for the high school team

9th Grade Bible: In 9th grade Bible we will looking at the topic of wisdom. Using scripture and a few books by Godly men, we will discover how wisdom is the key to having a succesful Godly life. Wisdom is the key to all aspects of life and we will learn to apply to all phases of our life.

 

11th Grade Bible: 11th Grade Bible is the study of 7 basic doctrines of Christianity. The study of these doctrines will help to build a better foundation for each students faith in Jesus Christ. Students will be required to read two books this year.



12th Grade Bible: In Bible this year we will be developing a foundation in personal finances.  The goal is to help each student see that our finances our a spiritual issue. If we are going to be followers of Christ we must have our finances in order, other wise we will see our lives crumble under the stress of money. Dave Ramsey quotes a stat that says 90% of male suicides our a result of finances. He also says that money is the #1 cause of divorce. The goal is to help students get this part of their life in order so that this part of life won't keep them from the most important part of their life, Jesus.

I. Course Description
A. Content: In this course students will look at a variety of topics from a Biblical Worldview. Some topics we will discuss are Wisdom for life, Habits, Friendship and Cults.
B. Purpose: The purpose is to help each individual understand the basic truths of some commonly asked topics. It is also designed to help them interact with thoughts and ideals that they normally may not interact with.
C. Class Methodology: In order to cover material effectively and interestingly, the course presentations will employ a combination of various approaches- including lecture, discussion, and student presentations. Audiovisual materials will be used when available and appropriate. Intelligent and regular participation in class discussion is expected from students. Since class size will remain relatively small, class members should feel comfortable about expressing ideas and offering thoughtful opinions. Such participation is a significant way to improve one’s rhetorical and analytical skills. Class participation will be one component of the course grade. Prompt completion of reading assignments is expected and will be checked.

Book- We will use a variety of different resources that will be passed out in class in a packet form.
