Syllabus Minimize

Journalism Classes:

1." Excellence" is our motto.  ALWAYS do your best.

2. Come prepared.  Bring notebook, pen and any assignments to class.

3. Come excited.  Great ideas make our class fun. Class participation is most of your grade.

Supplies Needed:

1. Each student will need to purchase from Mrs. Schley a reporter's notebook.  Cost is $3.  The notebook will be needed by writers and photographers and must be turned in for a grade routinely.  No substitutions for this notebook will be allowed.

2. Roget's Thesaurus.  Copies are available to use in the classroom, but having one at home will be a great benefit for my class as well as in writing papers for any class.

3. Flash Drive. Used to save all drafts of stories, captions, and photos. Purchasing a 2GB will allow the student plenty of room to keep all assignments for an entire nine weeks and will avoid his/her work from being lost on classroom computers.  If it is a financial issue to purchase a 2GB flash drive, please contact me via e-mail.

4. Photographers: if your have use of a camera (7 megapixels or greater), you will have greater flexibility in photography assignments. We will provide a yearbook camera to be used by many staff members. DO NOT let the lack of camera prevent you from joining the yearbook staff! We will find a way to develop your talents!
