Technology

Educational Technology at Grace Baptist Academy
Technology is everywhere in today’s world—it shapes how we look up information, communicate, shop, navigate, and learn. At Grace Baptist Academy, we believe in using technology intentionally and strategically to enhance our educational program.
We see technology as a tool for engagement and learning—not as a replacement for hands-on experiences. While it helps students explore, research, and practice skills, we do not want them staring at screens all day.
We have iPads available for every classroom (K4-8th grades) and students are guided by teachers to conduct research, strengthen skills, and engage in other learning activities.
Our Lower School students, PreK-5th, enjoy a computer class each week focusing on digital citizenship, general computer awareness, and coding. Middle School students can take an intermediate-level computer class one semester each year. Our High School students enjoy a 1:1 MacBook program for their personal use in our college prep high school classes.
Technology is a tool for teachers, not a time-filler or just for busywork. We value its benefits alongside hands-on learning. For example, while apps can demonstrate chemical reactions, students also safely experiment with chemicals in class. While videos can show plant growth, students also see, touch, and smell plants themselves.
Our goal is balance: leveraging the benefits of technology while using a variety of methods to accelerate achievement and nurture a well-rounded education.
